November Giving Items
Donations are being accepted for Thanksgiving Baskets. Non-perishable items are welcome as well as cash donations to purchase fruits and vegetables. Make checks payable to SUMC and mark Thanksgiving Baskets in the memo portion of your check. Baskets will be assembled on Monday, November 19th so please have your donated items to the church prior to then. Your donations may be left at the back entrance near the Welcome Center. Thank you for your generosity.

Church Office Closed
 The church office will be closed on Thursday, September 22nd in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Tanager Place Angel Tree
 The Tanager Place Angel Tree is in the church narthex to help collect gifts for the children Tanager Place serves and their families. The tag gives a gift suggestion. Please bring the gifts to church by December 9th. Please put gifts in gift bags or if breakable in boxes. Do not wrap with wrapping paper. Thank you for your support of this project.

Ecumenical Service
 This year Ecumenical Services will be Sunday, November 18th, 4:30 p.m. at Ely Lutheran Church. Join us and hear Pastor Brody's sermon as we worship together in Thanksgiving. Then stay for a light meal.

Save the Date!
 This year our Christmas Program is going to be a little different. Our youth will be joining our younger children for a performance of A Star Is Born. Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 23rd, at our 9:15 a.m. service in the Family Life Center.

Decorating for Christmas
 The first Sunday of Advent is December 2nd. We will be taking down our Autumn decor and putting up Christmas at the church on Sunday, November 25th at 1:00. If you are interested in helping decorate the Sanctuary, Family Life Center and the lobby, please join us for even a 1/2 hour. Music and treats will be provided. The more the merrier!

Christmas Caroling
 Bring your Christmas sparkle to share music and fellowship with others through Christmas Caroling! Sunday, Dec. 9th at 4:00 p.m. we will gather at the church, travel to share God's love through our voices and a bit of time for those in nursing homes and others within our church family. Then return to church for a light potluck supper. Come share the joy of making a joyful noise to celebrate Jesus! |

College Care Packages
 If you have a son or daughter that would appreciate a finals care package please submit their name, address and school no later than December 2nd to Sue Slattery. There is a sign-up sheet in the Welcome Center of the church. Financial donations to help offset the postage is appreciated and may be dropped off at the church office.

Notes of Gratitude
 Thank you to all those who participated in the Crop Hunger Walk this year. SUMC raised $400 with a total of $2,070 raised. Thank you for your support of this project.

Coordinating Our Building Use
Are you needing a place at the church for a committee meeting or event? Please note that ALL scheduling of the building's use must be cleared and scheduled through Julie in the church office. This is not a "permission" issue, but we do need this central location for keeping track of the building's activities (we are thankful to be able to host a growing number of Boy and Girl Scouts this year!).
