Thank you for reading the MKE Airfield Update! This newsletter is intended to keep you up-to-date on airfield construction projects, regular maintenance, and special events that could impact the standard flow of arriving or departing air traffic.

MKE is open with face masks required.
All individuals (including travelers, visitors, employees, and contractors) are required to wear a face covering upon entering the terminal.
More information on the Airport's COVID-19 response is available here:

Here is an update of some major airfield construction projects that are taking place this year along with regular airfield maintenance:
  • The main east-west runway, used by airlines (7R/25L), will be closed for pavement rehabilitation from early April through mid-November which means the north-south runway will be the primary commercial runway in use. This could influence aircraft flight activity over surrounding neighborhoods.
  • Two runways that primarily serve smaller General Aviation aircraft will also be closed due to construction projects.  Runway 13/31 will be closed beginning in early April and Runway 1R/19L will be closed during the 7R/25L rehabilitation project.
  • There will be intermittent closures during daytime hours for regular maintenance work.  Runways generally remain open during nights and weekends.
MKE WELCOMES SPIRIT AIRLINES
Have you heard? MKE has Spirit! That's because Spirit Airlines recently announced that the brightest planes in the sky will be taking off from Milwaukee this summer. The airline has added three daily nonstops from MKE to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Orlando. Flights begin on June 24, but that doesn't mean you have to wait till summer to plan your next vacation. Book today!

Timmerman Airport will hold its 5th Annual Flour Drop Contest on Saturday,  June 5th at 10:00 A.M.

MKE is nearing completion of a project to update the Airport Master Plan that will guide future development of the Airport.  This plan will define a roadmap for incremental development to meet future aviation demand and other airport needs.  Visit the MKE Master Plan website!
