This Sunday at Christ Church
Faith & Practice
Please join us in welcoming Bishop Benito and Angelica Juarez to Christ Church at this Sunday's 9:30AM service.  Our friends from our Companion Diocese of Southeast Mexico will be in town for our Diocesan Convention and asked if they could include a visit to our church while they are in town.  We have been a partner parish to Jesus de Nazareth in La Esperanza, Oaxaca, Mexico since 2005; the Bishop and his family have been to Christ Church numerous times during our relationship.

Bishop Benito will be retiring mid-2019.  This may be the last time you'll get to see him before he steps down from his 20 year leadership of the Diocese of Southeast Mexico.
The Bishop and his family are good friends of Christ Church Winnetka.
Wish them well on their next life journey.

Give Christmas Joy to Families in Need
Christmas Angels is the parish-wide ministry that provides gifts, food, basic necessities to families and individuals in need all over Chicago.  This is your chance to make a difference -- and spread the Gospel of hope -- this Christmas!

We still have over 45 families that need to be adopted!!
This is a great project to share with your family over Thanksgiving!

You can pick a family after the 9:30 service on Sunday, or  Sign up here online.

We also still need cash donations!
These are used to purchase gifts for hundreds of senior citizens,
Episcopal Agency residents and needy families in the New Trier Township

Parish nominations close Friday, November 30. The committee meets on Sunday, December 2.

Wrap & Roll Caroling Party
December 2
4:30PM Wrapping, 5:15PM Dinner & Caroling
It's (almost) that time of year! Mark your calendars and call your family and friends-the caroling party is around the corner. Thrown by the youth and parents of our congregation, we will wrap presents for the homeless, eat dinner (and Christmas cookies!) together, sing carols, and get a visit from St. Christopher-I mean St. Nicholas!  It's a great time to celebrate with your church family and introduce your friends and relatives to our church community. There's a recommended donation of $15/person and $30 total per family, but no need to RSVP. The more the merrier, so save the date!

Serve on the Altar: Acolyte
All 5th - 12th graders are invited to sign up to acolyte - whether they have done it before, it's been a while, or they've never done it! We can train them anytime - even Sunday morning. It is a great way to participate in the service, see worship from a new perspective, and feel ownership and belonging in the community.

Acolytes have a cross and ribbon hanging for them by name in the Acolyte Room. The color and cross changes as their level increases. They increase a level every year they serve, training/party they attend, or 8 times they serve. Triple points are awarded for being an acolyte on holidays or at the last minute!

For more information or to sign up, visit ourAcolyte webpage or email Megan Miller:  [email protected] .
Youth making Advent Candle Wreathes
After worship on Sunday, December 2, all 7th-12th graders are invited to the Youth Room to make an advent wreath. We will talk about the season of advent and our tradition of lighting candles, while making our own wreath. Join us and bring a friend! There will always be DONUTS!
