General Manager's Report
WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT. Maryland Geese Control has been on-site for five weeks now, having begun their work on October 9th. Seven weeks of service will take us to Thanksgiving; eight weeks to the end of November. At $625 per week, we will spend about $4,375-$5,000. The expenditure for the border collie program will leave us a balance of about $5,000. We would have enough money to pursue other mitigation efforts in the spring, including continued use of the border collies, if that approach is considered successful. There is $15,000 currently in the draft budget for the Wildlife Management line item.

CRABBING PIER. There are four aspects of the effort to address the crabbing pier. The first is demolition of the existing, unsafe crabbing pier. This project was completed yesterday. The next phase is consideration of the replacement of the crabbing pier, in the same location, in a different location, and/or renovating the existing wetland pier into more of a nature preserve. We have received two bids for the replacement project. Our permit for replacing the pier where it was is good for a year; so, we have plenty of time to decide how we want as a community to proceed.  Click here to read more .
