Dear Parents, 
And we're off....We had an amazing first few days of school! Your children have been rock stars! We have had no issues with wearing masks and the behavior of our students has been great! Let's all keep up the good work!

A few housekeeping items...
Please be sure you and your child are wearing their mask if you are walking to the door in the morning or at the end of day.

Morning drop off has been going better each day. We are still trying to find our groove for afternoon pick up. I ask that parents please wait on the median for your children to come to you. This really helps our teachers keep everyone organized. Parents with older students (6-8) are welcome to park in the parking lot EAST of the church. Enter on SS and EXIT on the NE exit on SS. Your child may walk on the sidewalk along the side of the church to meet you there. They MAY take younger siblings with them. Let's give this system a little longer to see if we can get it to work safely. I appreciate your patience!

School News
Calendar Raffle
Grades 5-8 will be selling Calendar Raffle tickets for a fundraiser now thru the end of September.
This fundraiser allows each middle school student to earn enough money ($1500) to go on the Washington D.C. trip their 8th grade school year. The cost is $20 (per Calendar Raffle) and the purchaser has 365 chances to win $25 - $500 during the course of a year. PLEASE seek out a 5th-8th grade student, or stop in the school office to buy one. Contact Tracy or Andrea with questions. Thank you! 

Lunch
Hot lunch began today. If your child brings a cold lunch, they are welcome to bring a disposable bag or a lunchbox. Please be sure to clean their lunchbox regularly if this is your choice.

Volunteer Requirement
Please be sure to sign up for your 2 required duties for this trimester (volunteer info was emailed on August 21st). We have had a great beginning response.  Lunch helpers, please remember lunch starts at 11:30 this year! All adult volunteers need to complete Safeguarding training before volunteering.

Safeguarding Training
 
All adult volunteers must take the Safeguarding All God's Family training. The Safe Environment training is now virtual so it is EASY to do! Register


Free Flu Shot Clinic, Sept. 10th, 8am-5pm
CVS Pharmacy will be conducting a free flu
shot clinic here for families and students. This clinic will take place from 8am-5pm on Thursday, September 10, in Fellowship Hall (basement of church). Register by Sept. 7th.

Covid Protocol
Thank you to the parents that were able to attend the protocol meeting on August 24th. Many excellent questions were asked! Did you miss the meeting and are wondering what to do when your kid is sick? Or what the school's doing to keep everyone safe? Watch the recorded meeting for answers.

Parent Volunteer Expectations 
Each school family is required to sign up for 2 slots per trimester Sign Up Here. If not personally fulfilled, you MUST find a parent or relative to cover your commitment. All volunteers must have undergone Safeguarding training. Volunteer options include:
Health Room - 11:30am-12:45pm*
Playground Duty - 11:30am-12:45pm* 
Hot Lunch Server - 11:30am-12:45pm* 
*time subject to be altered due to changes in COVID protocol
