The latest  unemployment rate  is 4.2 % , compared to 3.7% at the same time last year.

The latest  size of labor force is 671,988 , compared to 664,758 at the same time last year.
 
The latest  number of  monthly online job postings is 13,912 , with 4,144 of those requiring an Associate's degree or higher and 3,397 of those requiring a Bachelor's degree or higher.
 
The latest  number of quarterly (July-September) online job postings is 46,382 , with 13,207 of those requiring an Associate's degree or higher and  10,781 of those requiring a Bachelor's degree or higher.

4th Annual Workforce & Education Summit is December 14 at Ali Center

The event is hosted by KentuckianaWorks, 
55,000 Degrees,  Greater Louisville, Inc., and the Greater Louisville Project. 

The themes of this year's summit are Transformation, Scale, and Equity. Speakers will focus on how the Louisville region can develop an inclusive, tech-savvy workforce that is prepared for the knowledge economy of the future.

Dr. Neeli Bendapudi, President of the University of Louisville, and Heather Cox, Chief Digital Health and Analytics Officer at Humana, are the keynote speakers.

New Sector Career Charts

Our new sector-specific charts show basic information (wage, description, and education level) about quality, in-demand jobs in five sectors which are key to our local economy. 

There are charts for Construction, Healthcare, IT, Business Services, and Manufacturing. The jobs highlighted each employ a large number of people locally, are projected to grow over the next ten years, and pay above the local median wage. 

These charts are great to use as handouts for students or anyone seeking a simple reference for making career decisions.
