Athletic Field Day:
Thank You!

Every year, we could not do it without our generous volunteers, especially those who step up to organize and coordinate. Special thank you to VPA parent Dorothy Haro, who stepped up to organize our snack and volunteer efforts that day - along with all our parents who pitched in!

Tax Credits

At Veritas Prep we offer a robust athletics program with over 25 sports teams that compete all over the valley as well as state wide. We also offer over 40 before and after school clubs for our students. These student activities are made possible through the Arizona Public School Tax Credit program. Without Tax Credits, we would not be able to offer these programs. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT TO OUR STUDENTS AND VERITAS PREP!

Order Your Copy of Midsummer Night's Dream!
Each year, while semester conferences are taking place, all students read and annotate a shared literary work. (The seniors also use time during Symposium Week to work on their senior theses.) On the first day following that week, January 14, students and faculty will come together for a series of discussions and activities called Symposium Day.

For the 2018-2019 school year, students and faculty will be reading William Shakespeare's comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Teachers have helped select this text and are excited to share this additional work of beauty with their students, outside of class, for the sheer enjoyment of it.

During the week from January 7 - 11, students are asked to read carefully, annotate, and prepare their thoughts on this play. Further guidance will be shared as the date approaches. We understand this involves the purchase of a text, but we hope this will be a minimal burden, and easier on the budget than some projects assigned in the past. The edition we plan to use is the Mass Market Paperback Folger text, ISBN 9780743477543 (on Amazon here).

Stay tuned for updates here, or check our website here.

Adventure in Andalusia

All high school students are invited to participate in an amazing educational excursion to Spain this summer from May 29 to June 10. We will visit several cities, with a special emphasis on Toledo and Andalusia, areas rich with a blend of cultures-Christian, Muslim, and Jewish-and abundant physical traces from the Romans, Visigoths, Moors, and Castilians. We will visit palaces, a bullring, castles, mosques, synagogues, and two of Europe's best art museums where we will see incredible and memorable works by some of Europe's best painters: El Greco, Goya, Velázquez, and Picasso. We will walk under the two-thousand-year-old arches of the Roman aqueduct in Segovia, and we will have time to wander around and explore great cities like Granada, Seville, and Toledo, where we will spend three full days and four nights.

Over the course of two weeks, students will have an unforgettably enriching experience, immersing themselves in the history, art, and culture of a special region-all with Veritas Prep's goals in mind: to foster a sense of wonder and a great depth of understanding in every student in every place we visit. Spanish-language students will get great opportunities to practice their speaking and listening skills, but no language preparation is required: the trip is open to everyone! You can find more information and register at the following link: www.explorica.com/Nydegger-5059. A $150 discount with voucher code WorldTraveler2019 has been extended until November 15. Contact Mr. Nydegger for more details.
