Inclusion & COVID-19 - will anything change for people with disabilities?

Earlier this month, Inclusion Canada Board Director Bluesette Campbell and her family were featured in a CBC article about disability during COVID-19. The article reflects on lessons learned about disability during the pandemic and what this might mean for the future of people with disabilities in Canada.

Federal Budget 2021

On April 19, the federal government unveiled its 2021 budget. Although there are some promising pieces for the disability community (including inclusive childcare), more work needs to be done to ensure that government prioritizes the needs of people with disabilities and their families in Canada's economic future.


Inclusion Canada presents The Inclusive Workplace!

Inclusion Canada is pleased to announce the launch of a new online resource and training hub, The Inclusive Workplace/Le Milieu de Travail Inclusif.

This fully bilingual online resource and training hub hosts information, resources and training for job seekers and employees, businesses, and employment agencies across the employment trajectory.

Inclusion Canada in Action
  • Ready Willing and Able (RWA) continues to successfully facilitate employment outcomes for persons with an intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder, with 70 new outcomes achieved between January-March 2021.

  • From April 18-24, Inclusion Canada joined other non-profits and charities across the country to celebrate National Volunteer Week. Our Executive Vice President, Krista Carr, recorded a message thanking all of our volunteers for their contributions to the inclusion movement.

Accessible Canada Act Blog Post

Inclusion Canada submitted it’s feedback to the Government of Canada on its’ recently released draft regulations to the new Accessible Canada Act. The law passed in 2019 and aims to make the Government of Canada, federal businesses and organizations more accessible for people with disabilities.

COVID-19 & disability resources page updated

Inclusion Canada has recently updated its COVID-19 & Disability Resources page to accurately reflect the needs of the disability community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The page provides current and accessible information about vaccines, government supports, mental health support for people with a disability and their families, plain language resources and guides, and more!
