Dear T-Bird Parents & Families,
Spring registration is in full swing on campus. It's an exciting time, and a great opportunity for parents to help their students reflect on the things that have worked well during Fall Semester and discuss new opportunities for success. As you check-in with your student this week, please ask them if they have registered for classes. If they have any questions about registration, they can stop by the Academic Advising Office (Student Center room 204) or The Nest (Student Center room 178).
Freshman registration begins at 8 am tomorrow morning. The Nest will open at 7am to help with any questions. Student Success Advisors will also be in The Nest to help with any questions, and many Advisors have scheduled drop-in appointment times to be available to students throughout the week. Freshman students can set themselves up for success by checking their saved schedules tonight (I've included a video link below on how to do that) and setting an alarm for 8 am. Many classes will fill quickly. If a student isn't able to get into a course they were hoping for, remind them not to panic. They can select a different course, and they can continue to watch for open spots that may open between now and January.
Registration is an exciting time on campus- we love our Comeback Kids! Please feel free to contact me any time your student has a need and you aren't sure where to send them for support. I look forward to continuing to work together to create a great experience for your student at SUU.
