Dear Saxe Gotha Family, Jim casual 8-2014

Thanksgiving is coming, and we have so much to thank God for at Saxe Gotha! Our men enjoyed a great Wild Game Night last week; and over the weekend, we enjoyed packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child! Because of your efforts, well over 500 boxes will be sent to children all over the world! A big thanks to all our staff and volunteers who made these special event a wonderful success!

Operation Turkey is getting ready to launch! For decades our members have integrated this outreach effort into their Thanksgiving tradition. In the days prior to Thanksgiving, folks will enjoy a time of fun and fellowship at their turkey roasting parties. And then, we will gather early on Thursday morning to prepare and deliver a host of delicious meals.

Someone once said that Thanksgiving is good, but thanks living is better! God calls us to be faithful in using blessings he has given us - our time, talents and treasures - to give him glory and joy. Please be sure to send us your pledge card if you have not done so already. If you have, thank you! And look for ways this coming Thanksgiving and Christmas season to make a difference in another person's life by sharing with them the good news of Jesus Christ through your words and actions.

In Christ's love!
Pastor Jim
