Christ Is Our Cornerstone
In Our Prayers: We are praying for our St. Peter alumni. The week of April 6, we will be praying for the St. Peter Lutheran School Class of 2005: John Bohn, Jacob Bryan, Ryan Burdo, Patrick Caylor, Matthew Deneen, Timothy Deneen, Nicholas Fettinger, Leah Gaeth, Rosie Hagenow, Nicole Hughes, Steven Krueger, Cody Lieber, Holly Martin, Rebecca Otto, Brian Papst, Amanda Paris, David Premo, Adam Soldan, Benjamin Stavely, Megan Stecker, Jacob Strasel, Michael Suppes, Katelyn Wendling and Tyler Yahn.
Devotion of the Week: When we think back to a little over a year ago, many would agree that life was different. Masking, social distancing, and herd immunity were not terms being used regularly like they are today. Life as we knew it changed quickly as many of the normalcies of life were put on hold as everyone quarantined.

As we approach Holy Week this upcoming week, we also see a significant change take place in a very short period of time. Jesus is praised, honored, and hailed as king on Palm Sunday, but then by Maundy Thursday, He is being whipped, beaten, spit upon, and mocked until He is ultimately crucified on a cross on Good Friday. God's Son, our Savior, our Cornerstone, paid for our sins. He took our punishment of sin so that we would have forgiveness of sins and life eternal with Him forever. May God bless your Holy Week as we near the end of our Lenten season knowing that our Easter celebration is ours because He is risen! He is risen indeed!

In the Classroom
Thank You: It was great to have a full reading month this year (last year it ended too early). Thank you to Ms. Kienitz and Mrs. Fehn for organizing our month long activities. Today, all students received a free book (pictured) which were able to be purchased with a Thrivent Action Gift Card.

Church Attendance: We will resume taking in-person church attendance during the fourth quarter. The first Sunday that we will record attendance for is Easter Sunday, April 4.

The Great Outdoors: Pictured below are some of our toddlers taking a break from their classroom work:). They were enjoying the beautiful spring weather we had this week. As you can see, they did a great job smiling for their picture!
Works of Art: The K-8 Art students celebrated ‘March is Reading Month’ by drawing characters from two of the three books chosen for the month. The K-4th grade artists drew characters from Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?. The 5th-8th grade artists chose characters, or scenes, from Green Eggs and Ham. I am so very proud of their hard work and attention to detail. Congratulations artists! - Ms. Parsell
What's Your Story
Sitting in front of the preschool classes for chapel is a wonderful experience, especially listening to the refrain of songs they know for memory. On Wednesday, we sang LSB hymn 547 The Lamb. There are five verses to that song so the preschoolers were able to sing the refrain five times! The words to the refrain are "Worthy is the Lamb whose death makes me His own! The Lamb is reigning on His throne!"

We are always looking for additional stories to share. Please click here to send us your story to be published in the Panther Press.

Athletics
Girls Basketball Highlights: The girls ended their season with a couple more victories. Last Friday, they cruised to a 17-6 over Immanuel-Trinity with Isabella Curry leading the way with 10 points. Kendelle Klemish added 5 points and Keirstyn Curnutt chipped in 2 points. In their final game of the season, the girls took a commanding 13-3 first half lead and chalked up another win with a 21-7 final score. Izzy had 14 points and Keirstyn had the other 7 points. It was wonderful to have a complete A-team season and these Lady Panthers were fun to watch. They played very well together as a team and had a very successful season. Congratulations on a great season, girls!
Boys Basketball Wrap Up: The boys finished their season in the last week with three games and last Friday's game was the best one! Our Panthers struggled in the first half and were down 4-10, but in the second half they picked up their defensive intensity and started making their shots to capture their first victory of the season with a 17-14 win. Scoring for the Panthers were Brady Klemish (9 points), Landon Wardin (4), Jackson Welsh (2), and Aiden Grunow (2). On Tuesday, the young Panther squad faced the much older Wildcats and had a tough game. The Panthers put up a good fight but lost the game. Brady Klemish had his first career three pointer and Landon Wardin added a free throw. Lucas Hagenow pulled down an impressive five boards while being the shortest person on the floor. On Wednesday, the boys concluded their seasons with an away game at Bethlehem. The Charges jumped out to an 2-18 first half lead, but our Panthers clawed their way back into it in an exciting last game of the season. The boys clamped down on defense with Landon Wardin, Jackson Welsh, and Charlie Hyatt coming up with key steals holding the Chargers to just 2 points the whole second half. The deficit was a little too much and the boys lost 13-20 in a great second half effort. Dawson Beyer and Trevan Swanson led the team with four points each while Brady Klemish chipped in 3 points and Landon Wardin finished with 2 points. Good season boys!

2nd-4th Grade Basketball: These practices will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:40-4:00 for the first three weeks of April. The cost to participate is $15/person. Contact Mr. Hagenow if you have any questions.
