Welcome to the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The start of a new school year is always an exciting time for students, parents, and staff. Even though this year is starting differently, Together in Harmony, we will continue to work towards our school’s vision to lead our students from the classroom into the world as productive and responsible citizens.
As we begin this year virtually, we continue our commitment to a rigorous Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) curriculum with a focus on project-based learning. Helping to keep families connected regardless of their learning location we have launched our new learning management system, Schoology, where we will be able to provide students and families with full access to instructional materials, assignments, grading, calendars, and parent messaging in one platform that follows them seamlessly from at-home to in-person learning.
We are continuing to work closely with our local and state health officials along with the TEA to ensure a safe re-opening of our schools. We will announce no later than the first week of September whether there is a need to extend online-only learning further, or if families who have opted for on-campus learning may return for in-person instruction. Families who choose to send their students for in-person learning, once available, will find a safe and organized learning environment with enhanced health and sanitary protocols.
At Harmony Public Schools, our top priorities are the health and safety of our students and staff, as well as the academic and developmental growth of our scholars. I want to thank each of you for your continued support as we work to keep our students, staff, and community safe. I look forward to another successful and productive year.
Sincerely,
Kamil Yilmaz
