Special thanks to our partners at LABI especially Camille Conaway for keeping us informed with daily reports about what has happened and what is on the schedule at the legislature. Each bill is explained briefly and whether LABI supports or opposes each one.
Bet you don't see this everyday at your office?! One of our Executive Level members, MECO found this scaly friend swimming and basking in the sun in one of their recycle retention ponds on the MECO manufacturing facility grounds. MECO's manufacturing facility is located on the St. Tammany Trace in Mandeville, Louisiana, a wildlife conservation area. Their ponds and facility grounds host as home to many wildlife including geese, fish and recently, this 6 ft alligator.

State and federal news:
Despite all the jokes and jabs about politicians, our elected officials have been hard at work persevering on important issues on behalf of all of us. At the federal level we have been closely watching the National Flood Insurance Program -NFIP. Thanks to our partners at GNO, Inc for taking the lead. Despite all of their efforts the program is set to expire tomorrow, May 31 unless Congress can approve an extension.

Yesterday’s Hammond Chamber luncheon speaker U.S. Senator John Kennedy spoke about NFIP and informed us the entire Louisiana congressional delegation have been working diligently to continue this program that is so vital to all Louisiana citizens.

Senator Kennedy had several positive things to say about what happens in the halls of Congress and at the US Capitol among members of both political parties. We also received good news from US senator Bill Cassidy regarding STOP Surprise Medical Bills Act read more below:
