April Showers Bring May Flowers and our flowers on campus are beautiful this spring!
We encourage you to get the vaccine if it becomes available to you. Don’t forget we still need to wear our masks, keep our distance, and please continue to get tested! Even if you have received one or both vaccination doses, we want everyone to continue to get tested and follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
During these difficult times, please continue to remind students of the resources we have available, including SilverCloud, that offers self-guided programs for anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, and resilience. It is also free for faculty and staff. Learn more

Parkside's Partners in Philanthropy: UW-Parkside Foundation and Our Donors
|
By: University Advancement
As you saw from last week’s Parkside Day results, there is an active community of donors supporting UW-Parkside and our students’ success! This week we’re focusing on an important partner in the university’s philanthropic efforts, the UW-Parkside Foundation.
The UW-Parkside Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of supporting UW-Parkside by raising funds that will enhance access to educational excellence and promote mutually beneficial partnerships. It was founded in 1985 to facilitate the process of constructing the first on-campus housing. Since that time, the Foundation has become the main entity for private donations to scholarships and other funds benefiting UW-Parkside.
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors made up of alumni, corporate partners, and community leaders. Their responsibilities are to serve as ambassadors for UW-Parkside in the wider community, to manage the funds entrusted to them prudently, and to partner with the university on philanthropic opportunities.
Like the university, the Foundation’s efforts focus on both immediate impact for today’s students (the Future Focus Fund and the Athletics Ranger Vision campaign, for example), and long-term benefit for the future through their endowment of more than $11 million designated for scholarships and university programs. In 2020, the Foundation provided more than $650,000 in scholarship awards to students and other areas of support to campus.
Recognizing Donors
More than 1,000 individuals made a gift to UW-Parkside or the UW-Parkside Foundation last year; our fundraising success is only possible because of donors. While we know that everyone gives in different ways, we seek to provide public recognition for key groups of individual donors through our giving societies.
UW-Parkside and the UW-Parkside Foundation host giving societies for loyal major gift and planned gift donors, and a recurring gift club for ongoing supporters.
The Chancellor’s Society recognizes generous individuals whose annual gifts to any area of the university total $1,000 or more within a fiscal year or whose cumulative lifetime gifts equal $100,000 or more. Last academic year, 115 households were Annual Members, and 30 household have been welcomed into the society as Lifetime Members.
Donors can provide for UW-Parkside’s future by including a gift to UW-Parkside in their will, retirement plan, or other planned gift. Wyllie Society members are invested in the future of UW-Parkside, and many notify us of their intent to leave a gift so we can celebrate their legacy now. Planned gifts have established or enriched many notable resources on campus, including the Emile H. Mathis Art Gallery and the Anna Maria Williams Endowed Scholarship.
Donors may establish monthly or quarterly recurring gifts, and are known as Ranger Sustainers. This is a simple way for donors to give, and provides sustainable support to students and programs.
We gratefully recognize our donors and the UW-Parkside Foundation for their ongoing investment in UW-Parkside!
