I hope you had a chance to see the Playtime Candid photos taken by Miranda last week. In case you missed it, go to www.playtimecandids.com and put in the code KFKA to view them. You will need to scroll through to find your child, but I promise once you find it, you will love them. If you wish to order, you can do so right on her site. She comes once a year and does a great job.
Each year most schools have a Teacher Appreciation Day or week. In the past, we have had a tradition of asking each class to sponsor a teacher lunch for the entire staff. By doing this, we can spread out the love and appreciation for our staff for many weeks. I know you will agree with me that they really deserve it. There will be a sign-up sheet on the announcement board outside the school with a page for each class to sign up with the date. Due to COVID, please only sign up and send in store bought or restaurant made items. We have 22 staff members. If you sign up for a main dish, it only needs to serve 6-8 as we will have other families sign up as well. The lunches will take place each Thursday for the next 6 weeks. You can drop off the items you sign up for when you drop off your child or any time before 11:00 am. Thanks for helping me to make our staff feel so special.

This week in the Science Lab our VPK kids extended their studies of the earth's resources. They talked about the sun and how it can be dangerous so when outside sunscreen is very important. They each were given a piece of photo-sensitive paper on a tray. On it, they placed little items and put them out in the sun. Within minutes the images were burned on the paper. The kids were amazed at the power of the sun!
If you have not signed up for your optional 2-week summer vacation, please make sure to do that no later than May 1 so that we can bill your account accordingly and schedule our staff vacations.
Finally, a reminder that the second of three $80 registration installments are due on Monday.
