Installations, planting, streetscape improvements, maintenance - beautification just won't be stopped

Join us for the last push to complete
Phases II & III

New Matching Campaign: Let's finish what we started by June 5th. Double your impact!

If you have been in Magnolia Village over the last two weeks, you have seen a lot of construction, installations, and planting on West McGraw Street, between 33rd and 35th Avenue West. The Phases II & III beautification activities are happening because of neighbors like YOUyou who have generously donated to the Reimagine Magnolia Village project.

Phases II & III of the project are making substantial improvements to our neighborhood. New Magnolia trees have been planted, sidewalks are safer for pedestrians by expanding the paved areas, and Porous Pave has been placed in existing tree wells. New decorative poles will display banners and eventually, cascading flower baskets during spring and summer. Benches are being refurbished and will be placed along the improved sidewalks. New bike racks will make for multimodal transportation improvements. Maintenance is ongoing and being implemented.

Once we complete fundraising for Phases II & III, new tables, chairs, umbrellas, and additional maintenance tasks will be added to complete this part of the five-phased, streetscape improvement project.

That’s where you and your family and friends come in.

We’re so close – we need to raise an additional $89,500 to expand the streetscape improvements that have already added so much ambiance to the central part of the Village.

That’s why we are excited to announce that we are all in to raise the last dollars needed to complete Phases II & III.

Due to two generous donors, we have $20,000 for a matching fundraising campaign to encourage and incentivize donor engagement. For every dollar invested in the beautification project from now until the launch of the Magnolia Farmer’s Market on June 5th, your donation will be matched 1:1.

Double your impact and double our appreciation to our two generous donors who are offering the match.

If successful, the “I’m All In, Are YOU?” fundraising matching campaign will result in adding more comfy tables, chairs, the sporty red umbrellas, and keeping all looking spiffy and perky along West McGraw from 33rd to 35th Avenue West.

We are competing for another city of Seattle Department of Neighborhood grant. We will know if we were successful in mid to late May and will keep you posted once we hear from the city, yea or nay.

But between now and June 5th, your financial support is essential for completing Phases II & III, purchasing the tables, chairs, umbrellas, doing maintenance, and making the whole of Magnolia Village warm, welcoming, and wonderful for the community and its visitors.

We hope all of you will say, “I’m All In” to finishing what we started back in 2019: Beautifying and improving Magnolia Village. Donate now, double your gift, and together, let's complete Phases II & III of the Reimagine Magnolia Village project.
Magnolia Beautification Committee, Magnolia Chamber of Commerce, and Magnolia Better Together

Several of our donors have asked us about the relationship between the Magnolia Beautification Committee, the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce, and the new 501(c)3 non-profit, Magnolia Better Together. Magnolia Better Together was awarded tax-exempt status in November 2020 under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.

The Magnolia Beautification Committee is a group of volunteers who work together to plan, implement, and execute the Reimagine Magnolia Village beautification project. The group is led by Cheryl McQuiston, Chair and includes an array of talented and skilled individuals with collective years of experience in project management, fiscal operations, community organizing, fundraising, marketing, and landscape/construction management.

The Magnolia Beautification Committee is a committee of the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is a 501(c)6 organization and represents just over 370 Magnolia businesses and family members. Its mission is to add to the vibrancy of our community by fostering connections between Magnolia’s businesses, residents, and community groups while promoting civic and commercial progress in our business districts and neighborhood. The beautification project is one of the key initiatives of the Chamber since 2018.

Magnolia Better Together was formed in 2020 and received IRS approval last November. It is a grassroots charitable non-profit organization that supports community development projects to enhance neighborhood revitalization and improve Magnolia’s quality of life. The new organization was incorporated in July 2020 and managed by a board of directors.

The new nonprofit allows donors to invest in the Reimagine Magnolia Village project and know their donations are tax deductible.

In addition, some of our donors to Magnolia Better Together have sought matching funds from corporations where they work and who participate in employee matching in support of non-profits. This matching provides a great opportunity for many donors to double their gift through employee matching programs, another significant benefit of Magnolia Better Together and how it supports completing the five-phased Reimagine Magnolia Village project.
