Shania Burrus '19 Accepted into ACE Program

Shania Burrus '19 was recently accepted into the ACE mentoring program which focuses on architecture, construction, and engineering. The program helps students explore those fields while working on a project through Columbia University. Students are assigned to teams and have the opportunity to be mentored by architects and engineers in the field. Shania plans to continue pursing Architecture and Interior Design in college.

At SCA, Shania is part of the Women's Empowerment Club, the Debate Club, Amnesty International, the Art Club, and National Beta Club. A member of the National Honor Society, she also serves on the Student Council Executive Board. Shania played for last year's Championship Softball team.

She says many at SCA have been a positive influence for her. "The greatest people by far have been my dean, Ms. Keelin, my AP U.S. History teacher, Ms. Muschio, and my AP English Language teacher, Ms. Antico," she says. "Each one of them has made SCA memorable for me. They're supportive of me and my dreams and I couldn't be more grateful."
