Because Lutherans grow no moss (pt. 2): Upgrades are always a plus. Property Stewards are converting the florescent ballasts on the second floor to also be emergency lighting sources. This is a requirement for the Day School to have students in the second floor classrooms. This is a safety bonus for everyone else in the building, too! Thank you Garry, Ron, and gang. We are in this together. WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER. We may be apart, but we are not alone.

Devotional Podcast

There are many heroes of the faith, people we admire and wish to be. However, there are even more ordinary people of faith—those doing what they can with what they have to make a difference. We’ve selected 16 bold stories of those often overlooked in our biblical narratives. Using visual art and prompts for reflection, we hope to dig deep into the worlds of these characters, entering their stories with curiosity and openness to what they might teach us. As we journey with these characters, may they remind us that we all play a role in shaping God’s story of redemption and grace. May they awaken us to the faces of our faith in our world today. May they encourage us to know that no action is ever too small to make a difference.
Join Pastor Kelsie, Pastor Marcus, Pastor Megan (Spirit of Joy), Pastor Andy (First Presbyterian), and Pastor Paul (St. John, Marion) each week for the Faces of Our Faith devotional podcast.
Devotional Booklets will be available in a digital format and in print. If you need a print version please contact the office at info@emauels-seguin.org.

August 6, 2020 UPDATE:
The question most asked now of our church leaders is, "When can we return to church?" The Emanuel's Church Council was in agreement at the August 4, 2020 Council Meeting that we will return to in-person worship on campus "when it is safe for us to be a community together."
This means that our return date is TBD. Emanuel's Council and Staff are closely monitoring Covid-19 statistics in Guadalupe County and the State of Texas daily. They are keeping up-to-date with mandates and recommendations from Gov. Abbott, Guadalupe County and Seguin public health advisories, and the Southwestern Texas Synod guidelines from the Office of the Bishop. Emanuel's member responses to the "Return to Church Survey" from June echo this need to have a monitored and thoughtful approach to a safe re-entry.
This also means that we are re-learning what it means to "be the church." Church leaders are reflecting on what God is asking of us in this time and place. Connectional ministries are taking new shape. Tech skills are being honed. Prayer is deeper and more contemplative. Old ways are being reimagined into new ways. We want to hear how the Spirit is speaking to you as well. Please share how you would like to participate in this process of discernment.
Keep in your prayers our leaders as they continue to be the church while navigating strange waters. It is with great care and compassion for all that we move forward.
