Thursday marked the official start of Autumn. Finally, cooler weather is upon us with the change of seasons.
Fall is a great time for decorating and planting!
Build A Scarecrow on October 6, 7, or 8th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your scarecrows clothes and your creativity, Countryside will provide the straw and twine! There is a $5 fee per scarecrow.
Finish your landscape plantings now while the soil is still warm. This allows the roots to keep growing until the ground freezes. The cooler temperatures make the plants less stressed. Make sure your plants receive an inch of water a week until the ground freezes.
Here is a fun fall tip: When planting perennials in fall, add fall bulbs! Digging once is always nice. Getting two seasons of blooms is even better! Just dig your perennial holes. Add your fall bulbs. Plant your perennials! You'll be happy to see the fall bulbs bloom in spring and when their flowers are spent, your perennials will be coming up,
camouflaging the leaves of the bulbs while they die back naturally.
Fall Bulbs are in the Garden Center! Besides all your favorites, tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, we also have double tulips and double daffodils!
New for this year, "Bees & Butterflies" mixed packs of 50 bulbs, to provide 6 months of pollinator nutrition! 3-Mixed packs to choose from and only $16.99!
