IDA UPDATE
Indiana Dental Association | March 2021
ADA Offers Vaccine Information Resources
With the passing of HB 1079 and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services declaration allowing dentists to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, communication with patients about vaccines is vital.
To help dentists and their teams initiate and facilitate these conversations, the ADA has created a new COVID-19 vaccine patient communication toolkit. These member-only tools are intended to help practices educate patients about how the vaccine works, correcting misinformation and connecting them to local vaccination sites.
These materials are available through the Patient Return Resource Center on the ADA website. Information will be updated as necessary and will also be translated into Spanish.
Register for the 2021 Midwest Dental Assembly
The IDA is moving full steam ahead and planning for an in-person Midwest Dental Assembly in May. The event will be held May 14-16 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown.

As with previous years' meetings, the 2021 event will include live CE opportunities, social events and the annual House of Delegates meeting with IDA and component leaders. View the link below to learn more.
Deadline is Tomorrow for Committee Applications
Volunteer leaders are key to the success of any professional association and the IDA needs your help.

Applications are now being accepted for appointments to committees and subcommittees that provide volunteer guidance on a number of member programs and services. Appointments are normally for two years and begin on May 16, 2021, at the close of the IDA House of Delegates. Most committees and subcommittees meet an average of three to four times per year with a combination of live meetings at the IDA Central Office and video conferences via Zoom.

To apply for a position, submit the application on our website. Our website also includes brief descriptions of the duties of each committee and subcommittee. You are encouraged to apply for more than one position, as some committees and subcommittees have more open positions than others. The application deadline has been extended to tomorrow, March 19.
