Call to Prayer for Pittsburgh
and Action for our Nation
The CBFNC community offers our prayers for the families, friends and community afffected by the recent shooting in Pittsburgh. We Baptists of Good News and goodwill stand in solidarity with people of all faiths and no faith who oppose extremism that leads to violence. That is not the way of the Christ we serve. We share the words of CBF Executive Coordinator, Suzii Paynter, to offer comfort and challenge to our fellowship.

NORTHEAST REGIONAL WORKSHOP
Reading the Bible in a Divided Age
The Memorial Baptist Church
Greenville, NC
November 5
Join us as Mary Foskett leads us
in this important workshop!
We live in a challenging time in which biblical literacy is on the decline and mis-information about the Bible is on the rise. Yet the Bible is as relevant as ever and speaks powerfully to our time. This workshop will provide perspectives and tools to help pastors, ministers, and lay leaders engage the Bible more faithfully and effectively in today's complex and often divided contexts.
Mary Foskett is the Kahle Professor of Religious Studies and Albritton Fellow at Wake Forest University, where she teaches courses on the the New Testament and related topics. She is also an active member and leader at First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem.
