Castle Valley Library Presents:
An Exhibit of Original Photographs from the Castle Valley Photography Group & A Presentation on Color in Prehistoric Art of the Southwest

Color in Prehistoric Art of the Southwest: Pigment
Connie Massingale will present on an exploration of the ochres and other mineral pigments used in the rock art, ceremonies, ornamentation, tools and weaponry, and medicines in the Southwest, and their role in the evolution of our ancient Homonin ancestors.
KZMU Audio Book Club      

We will be on air with Back of Beyond Books at 5pm on Monday, November 5 for KZMU's monthly Audio Book Club!  The show will include a discussion of what we're reading, bestsellers, book reviews, and local literary events.

Road Trip Nation Presents:  
Why Not Us?

The film is a one hour documentary about a five-week national road trip, dubbed the "First-Gen Roadtrip" in which four first generation college students from around the country interview diverse leaders, many of whom were also the first in their families to receive a college degree.

Brought to Grand County by UEN's UtahFutures American Graduate project, this event will pair the thought-provoking film with an open discussion of workforce and education opportunities in Utah.

Free pizza will be served during the film!

TEDxMoabLibrary Lunch Hour 
Theme: Language

For the Thanksgiving holiday:

The Moab Library will close at 5pm on Wednesday, November 21 and will re-open at 9am on Monday, November 26.

The Castle Valley Library will be closed on Friday, November 23 and will otherwise be open during its regular hours.

The Castle Valley Library is located in the Castle Valley Community Center and is staffed Tuesdays 9am - 1pm, Wednesdays 9am - 4pm, and Fridays 1pm - 5pm. 
WiFi Hotspots & Chromebooks available for checkout!  

To increase internet access in Grand County, the library is now offering WiFi hotspots and Chromebooks for a 7 day checkout period!

A WiFi hotspot is a device you can use to connect  gadgets, such as a laptops or tablets, to the internet. The hotspot is portable so you can use it to access the internet (via T-Mobile's network) at home or on the go.

The library's Chromebooks are small laptops that run Google's Chrome Operating System (instead of Windows or macOS).  They are designed to be used primarily while connected to the internet to access applications or documents that live in the cloud.


Funds for this project have been provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act and are administered by the Utah State Library Division.
