LA SBDC - Internal News
Welcome!
Introducing a new monthly newsletter just for you! On the 30th of every month, we'll send an update of what's happening across the LA SBDC Network including news, goal performance and important deadlines.
A message from Regional Director, Pat Nye
Thanks to each of you who participated in our recent surveys and annual strategic planning retreat. The information you share with us is incredibly valuable in helping to shape the LA SBDC Network. The expectations of our work are significant and it will take all hands contributing to reach the metrics required by our funders.

Some key themes from your feedback are that we need to infuse more culture into our Network and to support sharing expertise and greater communication at all levels of the LA SBDC.

We listened and are taking initial steps towards aligning around those points. This newsletter is a start on the communications part and expect to see more. I also encourage you to continue offering guidance along the way. We serve a very diverse region of almost 12 million people and count on each of you to help shape how we meet their small business needs.
Network Metrics
Nice Work!
We've exceeded our annual Capital Infusion goal for 2018 and are on track for Business Starts and Long Term Clients.

Please help us push those two metrics over the finish line this year.

Goals for next year:
As a whole, the LA SBDC Network is required to meet the following metrics next year:
  • $172,734,714 Capital Infusion
  • 501 New Business Starts
  • 7,393 Clients Served (replacing Long Term Clients)

These are big increases to our Network, but we have great momentum this year and have significantly increased funding to grow our work. Please check with your individual Service Centers regarding specific shares of metrics each Center will be responsible for in 2019.

Introduction
Hello! My name is Jeannie Cordero, marketing student assistant for the SBDC Lead Center.

I will be writing the monthly newsletters, so please email me at jcordero.sw@lbcc.edu if you would like to add any announcements, reminders, or successes to the next newsletter.
Last but not least...
I f you're attending the Statewide Development Conference in Sacramento, check out some of the local attractions:

Historical Old Sacramento is a must-see. While you are there, enjoy a meal with a view at the Rio City Cafe on Front Street or grab a cocktail at the former speakeasy/brothel Shady Lady Saloon , recently chosen as one of the top bars in the U.S. by Esquire Magazine.

Alternatively, venture over to Sacramento's National Historic Landmark, The Tower Theatre, then sample some international fare on the patio at the nearby Tower Cafe .

The Arden Fair Mall is down the street from the hotel, and has plenty of dining (and shopping) options.

Enjoy!
