The following is a release from the Beauregard Parish School Board:

The Beauregard Parish Partners in Education (PIE) program celebrates its 25th anniversary this month.

The program is a joint venture between the Beauregard Parish school system and the Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce. It was inaugurated in 1993 with 25 area businesses participating.

A celebration reception was held to honor the 68 current partners in the program, and recognize 17 area businesses that have been a part of the program for the past 25 years. Inaugural partners were presented a plaque by Chamber President Randy Cline and Beauregard Parish School Board Superintendent of Schools Timothy Cooley.

"We are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of area businesses that have supported our schools over the 25 years of the program and the growing number of businesses who choose to become involved in helping make our education system the best it can be," said Superintendent Cooley.

The seventeen inaugural partners honored at the reception include: Acadian Ambulance, Amerisafe, Beauregard Electric, Beauregard Health System, Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Department, Beauregard Physical Therapy, City of DeRidder, CLECO, Dairy Queen, First Federal Bank of Louisiana, First National Bank of DeRidder, Ingevity, Packaging Corporation of American, Pedestal Bank, Stine Lumber, Trunkline Gas, and WalMart.

Today, 68 local businesses partner with one or more of the thirteen parish schools to create 93 partnerships that "invest in the future by investing in our children."
