iTunes Phishing Scam Alert
|
There is a new scam where someone sends an email that looks like it comes from the principal of a school asking parents to purchase iTunes gift cards and send the codes in. We want to make sure our parents know that we do not use iTunes gift cards in the district and will not ask for this ever. Unfortunately we have no control over these emails as they are going directly from the fake account to parents. We recommend you delete this email and when in doubt, please ask us.

Attendance Awareness Month
|
September is Attendance Awareness Month. Last year Live Oak's rate of attendance was 97.66%. This was a .25% increase over the 2016-17's rate of 97.41%. We want to continue that trend this year, to ensure that all our students are receiving the instruction they need to be successful.
Today's Live Oak students learn the curriculum through a combination of direct instruction, discussion and interaction with peers, and hands-on experiences that they participate in every day. These cannot always be replicated in exactly the same way for students who are absent. We know that children get sick and if your child is experiencing fever or vomiting, we want them to stay home for 24 hours. However, often Live Oak students miss instruction due to family vacations or trips. It is vital that you try to schedule your vacations during regular school breaks. While an independent study contract does provide assignments for students to complete, it can never replicate the interactive and experiential learning that happens every day in our classrooms.
Your student is relying on you to get them to school each and every day on time - remember Attendance Counts!
