"The Fair Hill International is more than simply watching world-class horses compete," said Trish Gilbert, President of Fair Hill International. "It's also a family affair! We invite everyone to bring the kids to come enjoy Kids' Corner. Also, bring the dog and let him run through a dog agility course. We hope that everyone will come out and enjoy all the special events that the Fair Hill International has to offer!"

The line-up of special events and entertainment attractions at this year's The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International includes:

KIDS' CORNER

Just inside the Main Gate next to Dog Agility

Bring the little ones by Kids' Corner for crafts, The Scheeler Seed Corn Box, stick horses, Pony Hops inflatables and other fun activities for kids of all ages!

The Puddle Jumpers 4-H Club will be demonstrating how to properly groom ponies and provide the tools needed to get the job done!

Fair Hill DNR Naturalist - Come explore some of the many natural wonders you can find at Fair Hill! Saturday and Sunday 10:00-3:00

DOG AGILITY
Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Agility is often referred to as a timed obstacle course for dogs, but it is very much a human sport as well since owners and trainers teach their pets both obstacle performance and directional skills to successfully negotiate each course as a competitive team. They will never run the same course twice, and handlers must plan strategically to master the course of the day. With a variety of games and classes, dog trainers are constantly challenged to learn new skills and teach them to their canine companions.

Want to see what agility is all about, and see if your dog has what it takes to compete? Join The Academy of Dog Training from Newark, DE, in the Dog Arena for Agility demonstrations and free mini-lessons for beginners and more experienced agility dogs alike. Demonstrations and lessons will take place throughout the day Friday through Sunday.

CHINCOTEAGUE PONY DRILL TEAM
Saturday performances in the CCI Warm-Up Ring, Sunday morning in the William duPont, Jr. Main Arena.

After seeing a drill team competition at the Kentucky Horse Park in 1998, coach Kendy Allen came up with the idea of having a Chincoteague Pony Drill Team-made up of all Chincoteague ponies, both veterans of the swim and descendants of Misty, the most famous Chincoteague pony of all. Then a 4-H leader, she asked some of the youth if they were interested in learning a drill on some of the Allen family Chincoteague ponies, and the rest is history.

Today the drill team can perform with anywhere from 3 to 12 ponies, and have performed and competed at such places as the Kentucky Horse Park, Equitana USA, Virginia State Fair, and the Delaware Horse Expo, just to name a few. They have performed in numerous parades, winning best of parade, and have delighted audiences everywhere who have come to watch the "mystique" of the Chincoteague as a trained beautiful show pony.

The ponies range in age from 4 to 18, and riders from age 16 to thirtysomething and beyond. They showcase the ponies as something far more than just wild horses to see in the distance on the island of Assateague. They are very versatile, intelligent, hardy, and easy-going large ponies with the heart and soul of a horse.

BRENDAN WISE HORSEMANSHIP
Friday: bridle-less dressage  demonstration during the lunch break
Saturday: multiple jumping demonstrations throughout the day

Brendan Wise has been playing with horses ever since he was old enough to pull his boots on, and has always had a love for the horse greater than anything else in this world. He has devoted his life to the study and the teaching of Horsemanship in the Classical Tradition. Brendan has spent his entire life learning from many disciplines including Natural Horsemanship, Dressage, Reining, Show Jumping and Racing. He has combined his experiences and successes in all of these disciplines, as well as a constant intense study of the Classical Masters, in order to develop his skills as a horseman.

DVCTA QUAD SQUAD
The Delaware Valley Combined Training Assoc. is performing a Quadrille Exhibition at 6PM on Wednesday October 17, to kick off our Welcome Party for competitors, sponsors, owners, grooms, vendors and volunteers. Even if you're not a volunteer, you are welcome to stay to watch The Quad Squad perform in the Main Arena.

Quadrille riding is all about synchrony, spacing and alignment and is an excellent way to vary your horse's training routine. Horses and riders both love it! Each DVCTA team consists of 6-12 horses that perform exhibition rides at prestigious events within the region. In addition to performing at Fair Hill International, they have performed at Dressage at Devon, Jersey Fresh CDI, Plantation Field International, Ride for Life's Dancing Horse Challenge and the annual DVCTA recognized Spring Dressage Show.

Cross Country Course Walk
The course walk is at 4PM on Friday and meets at the Start Box. There is no charge. Our Friday evening course walk is open to Pony Clubbers, 4-H members, and our invaluable Fair Hill International volunteers.

Ever wondered what the cross-country fences look like up close and personal? How about what is running through the riders' minds as they approach the fence? This year the course walk will be hosted by Daniel and Kaitlin Clasing. Both riders will have a horse entered in The Dutta Corp Fair Hill International CCI3*.

LandSafe Equestrian
The risk of having serious injury is one in every 55 falls from your horse. The LandSafe Rider Fall Safety System is a training program designed to teach the best practices of fall prevention and response. LandSafe will be conducting demonstrations and training sessions to help you learn how to fall safely, to reduce your risk of injury.

Come out and enjoy the competition, the horses, demonstrations, local craft beers and wine, food trucks, and some of the best shopping around! Hope to see you there!
