A service of Lessons and Carols - presented by the Choirs:
Handbell Choir, Children's choir, and the Sanctuary Choir

Join us for worship on Sunday at 10:30 AM as we light the 4th Advent candle of Love.

The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. In this service, we listen to nine Scripture lessons which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson's message and a brief prayer.

Worship Teams for 2020

As 2019 comes to a close, and 2020 approaches, it is time to start creating the 2020 "Worship Teams" calendar. We are making a change to our Worship Teams. We are "splitting" the Greeter and Offering Collectors. We do have openings! Greeters need to be able to be at church 15 minutes before worship. If you would be willing to collect the offering, this is your chance! If YOU would like to do either, or both, either email me,  kmrobinson51@gmail.com , or call 704 435-2756 and leave a message. I would like to add some new people to our lists.

We will use one Greeter a week, but need two to collect the offering.
Jim Ross will be meeting with Greeters soon to make sure everyone is comfortable about knowing what he/she needs to do. Thanks. - Kathy Robinson

Ramseur Christmas Program
First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, Wednesday December 25, 2019 10:30 AM

You  all know the story about the little drummer boy who had no material gift to present to the Baby Jesus and so he played his drum to the delight of all that were gathered. Years ago my Mother told me that story was the inspiration for what is now known as the Ramseur Christmas Program. As most of you know, this informal gathering has become a joyous celebration where anyone (young or old) can offer his or her talents in honor of that same Christ Child. We invite you to come worship with us and share any talent great or small—sing a song, play an instrument, read a poem, tell a story—whatever you would like to do. Please let me know any time before Christmas if you would like to perform and we will put you on the program. ~~ Rick Ramseur
Our Next Church Breakfast
One of the initiatives that emerged from our congregational conversations last summer was to have a monthly fellowship breakfast on Sunday mornings before worship.

Our next Church Breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, 2020, at 9:15 in the Fellowship Hall.

We would like to set a schedule for the 4 th Sunday of the month, so add February 23 and March 29 to your calendars. Because it is winter, we are implementing a snow policy – if Church is cancelled, we will have Breakfast the next Sunday (yes, that would mean the first and last Sunday of the month.)

If you would like to bring something, feel free to email Pat Carpenter and let her know. Her email address is johncarpenter@charter.net .

Thanks,
The Transition Team - Jan, Joe and Kathy
