Are you or someone you know interested in becoming members of Fourth Church?

If so, please join us for the next online Inquirers’ Class this Sunday, July 19 and Wednesday, July 22.

For additional information about Fourth Church membership, please contact Joe Morrow.
With eleven small groups having begun this month, we are now making plans to launch additional groups to meet for four weeks in August.

There will be groups discussing a book, others engaging in conversations about race, and others reflecting on faith journeys.

If you would like to connect with five to seven other people in August via Zoom for a time of fellowship, relationship building, and spiritual formation around one of these topics, please let us know!

To express interest in being part of a new group or to learn more about this opportunity to connect with others, please email Anne Ellis.
Did you know that in order to fill the positions of Elder, Deacon, Trustee, and Chicago Lights Board members that will be open in 2021, the Nominating Committee needs Fourth Church members to submit names of around 200 candidates?

If you’re wondering who should submit candidates for the slate, the answer is you! We want to hear from anyone who has a person—or themselves—to recommend.

You can send your recommendations to the Nominating Committee by completing the online at www.bit.ly/nominating2020.
You can purchase fresh produce while also supporting the community when you shop at the Farmstand at the Chicago Lights Urban Farm.

The Farmstand is open on Fridays between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Guests are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing while at the Farm (444 W. Chicago Ave.).

All proceeds benefit this program of Chicago Lights, our nonprofit community outreach arm.
Our online jazz concerts continue this Friday, July 17 with percussionist Juan Pastor presenting this week’s performance in our summer series.

Next up on the concert schedule will be guitarist Andy Brown on July 24 and vocalist Wydetta Carter on July 31.

Our online concerts are streamed each Friday at 12:10 p.m. at www.bit.ly/fpcprograms, where they are also available to enjoy throughout the week.
Are you looking for healthy ways to cope with the stresses and anxiety, anger and frustration, grief and uncertainty that so many of us are experiencing?

The staff of our Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being is available to offer suggestions and support through phone appointments or teletherapy, whether for just a few sessions or on an ongoing basis.

To set up a time to talk or for more information about how the Center can be a resource for you, call the Center at 312.787.2729, ext. 2260.

Our Stephen Ministers are also available to be God’s listening presence during this season when many of us are struggling to sort things out.

If you would like to be in phone contact with one of our Stephen Ministers, who are trained in providing emotional and spiritual care, please leave a confidential message at 312.573.3365.

Additionally, if you would like to talk to a pastor, please call the church (312.787.4570), and your request will be forwarded to someone on the pastoral staff.

This year we’ll gather together online each day to sing and create as we learn about Moses leading the Hebrew people out of Egypt.

For more information about any of these opportunities—including the Zoom details for the gatherings—contact Matt Helms or Briana Belding-Peck.
The plan approved by the Session of Fourth Church for our life together as a church in the summer of 2020 includes the decision to have livestream-only worship throughout the months of June, July, and August.

Also during that same time period—June through August—the Fourth Church campus will remain closed, and programming will take place online, from Center for Life and Learning exercise classes to VBS to Summer Day to Bible studies and more.

The meeting of essential needs by Fourth Church Meals Ministry and Chicago Lights Social Service Center will continue to be offered outdoors, as it has been since mid-March.
