Christ the King School Newsletter - September 25, 2018
Dear Christ the King School Families,

Happy Fall
Saturday, September 22nd marked the first day of Fall! It is time to say goodbye to the warm and restful days of summer, and hello to the cooler days of autumn. It is exciting to see the leaves on the trees begin to change colors from green to an assortment of orange, yellow and brown. The days will be noticeably shorter as the morning air is beginning to feel crisp. It is a wonderful time of the year to reflect on the many gifts God has given us. Each morning assembly reminds me of the power of community, prayer, and countless blessings. At Christ the King School we have so much to be grateful for: students who are engaged and excited to learn, a faculty and staff that is committed and leads/teaches with passion, supportive and giving school families who sacrifice their time, talent, and resources, and a strong parish community that lights the way. Thank you for helping us thrive!

Walk-a-Jog-a-Thon
The students had a great time today participating in the annual Walk-a-Jog-a-thon. They filled the track with energy, passion, determination, happiness, and excitement. They truly enjoyed laughing, exercising and spending time together outside! Abundant gratitude to Heidi Nuti and her team for their tremendous leadership, kindness, organizational planning, and generous ways, and to our parent volunteers who worked gratefully, tirelessly, and happily for ensuring the success of this life-serving event. A special thank you to our students, parents, family members, and friends of CTK School that supported and donated to this fundraiser. Your commitment and generous donations to CTK School
are outstanding!

Conference Time
School Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 4th & Friday, October 5th. Last week, an email was sent home containing a link to schedule to your Parent/Teacher Conference, if you did not receive the email please contact the school office. There will be NO school on the aforementioned dates, and CTK Club will be closed during conference days as well. Sign ups for Parent/Teacher Conferences will close on Monday, October 1st. Students in Grades 4-8 will attend the conference(s) with their parent(s). If you would like a conference with a non-homeroom teacher please email that teacher directly. Listed below are some helpful tips to prepare for your conference.

  • Talk to your child: Ask your child if there is anything that she/he would like you to   discuss with the teacher.

  • Be prepared: Write down topics and areas of success and growth you would like to discuss at the conference.

  • Be on time and respectful of the teachers schedule: Arrive promptly, or a few minutes early, to maximize the full scheduled time allotment.

  • Be open minded: Be open to suggestions and input and please share your insights and questions, too. We are all working toward a common goal of educating and supporting our children. Please take the time to process and share positives/areas of improvement with your child from your scheduled conference.

Abundant blessings,

Mr. Silveira
Principal

Carpool Safety
Please drive  SLOWLY  and  CAREFULLY  in the school parking lot during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. It is always important to pay attention to the crossing guard and signals near school. Small children can be hard to see in a crowded lot, so we ask that you be aware of their safety at all times. We ask that you please do not leave children unattended in vehicles, even if it is for a short period of time. Also, when parking please pull forward to the front spaces, if available, and park facing the gym. We appreciate your support in keeping everyone safe.
