Featured project
We’re so thankful for your hard work, and we want to recognize your efforts. Therefore, we're highlighting different volunteers and projects each week. Please share your photos with communications@lakesideohio.com so you can be featured!

Painting the Fifth Street fence
It was a joyous family affair this past week as the Lacey family graciously volunteered to paint the fence right outside Lakeside's Fifth Street Gate. Tricia and Mike Lacey brought along their two sons, Brayden and Westin, to help out. Thank you, Lacey family, for taking time out of your day to give back to Lakeside. The spiffed up fence and new white coat of paint is a beautiful entrance into Lakeside.

The Lakeside staff would like to take a moment to say thank you to all who have volunteered during the peak of the summer: none of this work could have been done without your support, dedication and time.
Help wanted!
Loretta Wilken, Lakeside’s Master Gardener & Groundskeeper, is looking for volunteers to weed and help trim dead buds across the grounds. If interested, please meet Loretta at the Memorial Garden at 9 a.m. Thursdays, and bring your own equipment.

To sign up any volunteer projects, contact communications@lakesideohio.com, (419) 798-4461, ext. 246 or visit 217 Walnut Ave.
Why record volunteer hours?
You have already done a great job being diligent in submitting your volunteer hours for the summer. A few of you have been curious as to why the LCF Office may be asking this of you...

  • Some grants that the LCF applies for ask how many volunteers have assisted the institution and how much time volunteers have given. In other words, your volunteering helps Lakeside apply and receive grants to make the quality of your Lakeside experience even better.
  • Lakeside is currently being impacted by the loss of revenue caused by the changes and disruptions of COVID-19. Lakeside has had to cut down costs through staff and programming reductions. Therefore, volunteers' time and energy is VALUABLE. We want to quantify the value of what you have contributed to Lakeside through your dedication, labor and passion.
  • At the end of this Chautauqua season, Lakeside hopes to recognize ALL that each of you have done in giving back to Lakeside, including a final total of the hours you have put into ensuring that this season is a success. We want to reflect on and appreciate how much the Volunteer Corps has grown and evolved and anticipate what we should focus on moving forward.

For these reasons, we encourage you to submit your volunteer hours to communications@lakesideohio.com, call (419) 798-4461, ext. 246 or stop by the LCF Office at 217 Walnut Ave.
