 School Building #3 DONE!
Behind Genesis School buildings are two, small grass huts used now only for quick shelter from the hot sun or pouring rain while one is passing by. Mostly, they stand a reminders of how far Genesis School has come. In front of the small huts, stand three, large two story buildings with four classrooms each. Open air windows send a breeze through on a hot day, and the sturdy, brick buildings provide shelter and protection from   heavy rain and hot sun. They are filled with chalkboards, furniture, books and, most importantly, students--lots and lots of eager Ugandan students. This is now Genesis school.

God ' s provision in the last 7 years has moved children from meager grass shacks to the present buildings. Now, in fully furnished school rooms, teachers are committed to, first, teaching children of Komankoli about Jesus and, secondly, to providing a high quality education.

In the last two years, an all-purpose building has been completed which includes a kitchen and large open area equipped with tables and chairs. This large area is used for serving breakfast and lunch, for larger class instruction, for assessment and for special events. In addition to serving as a school space, it is also a place for AWANA to meet and is a " gathering place " for other community events. Next to the all-purpose room is a multi-sensory playground to encourage the healthy socialization and large motor development of the children attending school. It includes slides, swings, large and small climbing structures and places to sing and dance!

From little grass huts to a viable school, Genesis continues to develop. The area of Komankoli is filled with children who are eager to learn and need Jesus. Pray that Genesis will continue to be a place where the name of Jesus is spoken frequently and where, from the ground up, children are learning what it means to own the Christian life for themselves, and, in turn, tell their community and country the way of Jesus Christ.

A vital support to learning is quality nutrition. Knowing that the children at Genesis come from homes with limited nutritional opportunities we offer a healthy breakfast and lunch to every one of them. For the price of an average school lunch in America, $2.30, Hines Ugandan Ministries provides breakfast and lunch to 5 children at Genesis Nursery and Primary School. See our video story of Andrew at www.hineskids.org . Please consider adding a little extra to your next donation to help feed 5, 10 or more children at Genesis or consider $23 will feed 50 kids or $120 helps feed the whole school for a day. Text "Plate" to 41444, give at our website or send a check to our Littleton office.
Thank you!
