News from the Currituck County Center
From the Director
J ust two weeks ago we were all studying weather forecasts and making difficult decisions about securing our homes and property, whether to evacuate or ride it out, and how to best care for our families and businesses. The prospect of Hurricane Florence hitting our delicate little corner of the state as a category 4 or 5 storm was terrifying.

From where we sit today, we know how fortunate we were. Our neighbors to the south are still struggling to meet their basic needs. To be sure, Florence made her presence known in Currituck but it could have been so much worse. We still have quite a ways to go in this year's hurricane season. Take advantage of the opportunity now to review the disaster preparedness information compiled here . You'll also find information on how best to help our neighbors recover from this disaster. Keep watch and be ready.
