Franklin 5th Graders Host "Arcade Day"

Every year teacher Dustin Brantley  assigns his 5th-grade students a novel project: Create an arcade game that contains one simple machine and is constructed from recyclable materials. But that's just the start of the lesson in what has become a cherished Franklin tradition for the entire school community.  Read more .
 
AHS Senior Places in Magazine Cover Contest

Congratulations to Sydney Chan, a  senior at Alameda High School, who received 2nd place in The Monthly's Bay Area-wide student cover art contest.  Sydney created her piece, called "Squirrel in Winter," after taking Multimedia Art and Advanced Multimedia Art with AHS teacher Andrea Szeto.

ASTI Student Now NMS Finalist

ASTI senior Chixue (Sybil) Fu is a semifinalist in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program! According to the national program, she is the only AUSD student to make it to the semi-finals this year. She goes on now to compete to become a finalist. Learn more.


New Student Record Tool Coming This Year

This year AUSD is transitioning from using School Loop to post grades and assignments for middle and high school students to using Aeries. The new system provides benefits to teachers and parent/guardians alike. As teachers are being trained across the district, however, some parents may have to check both sites.
