NOVEMBER
Here we are getting ready for the Holiday Season. Time flies when you are having fun! đđ
Tucson NAWIC Chapter #122 has been Very Busy!
We started November off with a Fun & Tasty night at the home of
Tammy Minot
for a member BBQ. That husband of hers can cook! And the company so Enjoyable!
November 6th & 7th brought us the First Annual SACCD NAWIC Booth! This was an Awesome event with about 3,000 Middle & High school students. Our booth was safety related. We had targets with Velcro balls that the kids were to throw, then put on âimpairmentâ goggles and try throwing again. Tagline was âSafety starts before you show up on the jobâ. The kids enjoyed the booth and we hope they will remember that feeling of not being able to hit the target while impaired.

Veteranâs day November 11th started with KGUN 9 showing our blood drive info on the AM News. Another first for our chapter. NAWIC partnered with ABA (Arizona Builders Alliance) for our 1st Annual Veteranâs Day Blood Drive. We collected 13 pints of whole blood with a potential 36 lives saved.
Our November 13th Membership Meeting was honored to have
Linda S. Morales
of DM50 for our speaker. This highlighted the importance of Davis Monthan AFB on our local economy. We also received information on ways to include veterans in our desire to increase the construction workforce.
On November 18th I met with JobPath. They shared their story of how they serve students. I was able to share our scholarship program with them. I am thinking this will be another good partnership for our group. Happy to be a part of growing our NAWIC presence in the Tucson Community!
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope to see you at the December Social.

DECEMBER
And just like that⌠Itâs 2020!!
I hope everyone had a Blessed Holiday Season! For some that means time with family. Maybe it means quiet time. Maybe you love the hustle and bustle. Whatever you love about the season, I hope you had your needs met. That energizes us to start a new year in full swing!
December was a blessing for NAWIC #122. December 7
th
started out with members volunteering at the ABA Volunteer Day event. Many of our members spent the morning putting together gift baskets for the residents at St. Lukeâs Home. Then later that evening, we once again packed the Gaslight Theater for our annual event. Itâs a blessing to bring so many of our friends and family into one place for a Super Fun evening! The Secret Santa performance was fun filled that got us all in the Holiday Spirit.

December 11
th
was our December Social. This year we decided our Holiday Donation would have a âWomen helping Womenâ theme. Jean Fedigan from Sister Jose Womenâs Center came by our Social to let us know about her mission in helping women. We presented Jean with our donations for her Womenâs Center and learned how she helps these women. We hope to continue to partner with Sister Joseâs in the future by finding more ways we can assist these ladies to get back on their feet. Then NAWIC Chapter 122 tapped into their creative sides and painted âSaguaro Skiesâ at Hueâs and Booze.
After that, hopefully everyone has taken some time for family, home and ourselves. I know I have. đ
Now to power up for a new year with many more new adventures for our Chapter. Hope to see everyone at the January meeting,
Honored to be Your President,
Sandy Lipe
