Dear Friends,

Wisconsin's booming economy is not only great for job seekers (our unemployment rate has been under 3% for a record eight straight months), it's also great for businesses. Thanks to our reforms and a strong economy, businesses will save $45 million in Unemployment Insurance for 2019. Since 2013, businesses have saved a whopping $744 million in Unemployment Insurance costs! And that's not all.

The Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund has a balance of $1.7 billion as of the most recent report in July of this year. That's the largest positive balance since 2001. That's real results and real reforms, right here in Wisconsin. Just remember, it wasn't always like this.

Back in 2010, businesses were leaving for greener pastures. Property taxes were going up and so was our unemployment rate. Our state faced a huge budget deficit because of irresponsible budgeting by the previous administration.

Thankfully, Republicans were able to turn that around with reforms and lower taxes. More details on our state's remarkable recovery are below!

Remember, we have an important election coming up on Tuesday, November 6th. If you need any information on where to vote and what's on your ballot, information is provided later in this E-Update.

As always, if you have any concerns or ideas on how to improve our great state, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 608-266-5830 or by email at Sen.Darling@legis.wi.gov .

On, Wisconsin!
