Open to Indian citizens who have completed their PhD within the last five years from an Indian institution in a bioscience-related field, and currently residing in India. Exceptional senior doctoral students may also be considered.
We seek a Communications Manager to manage content and raise the profile of the institute and its affiliates’ work. The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience in a newsroom or equivalent communications environment and a good working knowledge of contemporary and historical South Asian issues.

PUBLICATIONS
A vitally important paper about ethnic cleansing in Myanmar in Health and Human Rights Journal , co-authored by, among others, one of our Steering Committee members, Professor Jennifer Leaning , and a key Mittal Institute collaborator, Dr. Satchit Balsari, based on their research at the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University.

IN REGION
As part of our India Seminar Series in New Delhi, psychiatrist Dr. Vikram Patel ,The Pershing Square Professor of Global Health, Harvard Medical School, spoke to two young women, Ishita Mehra and Ishita Chaudhry , about their personal journeys and experiences with mental health.
The Mittal Institute and the Harvard Club of India have come together to organize a collection drive for those affected by the floods. We are setting up various collection points around Delhi and urge people to donate items in kind.
H ARVARD STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES
Every year, The Mittal Institute supports graduate students at Harvard whose research focuses on South Asia. GSAs participate in monthly workshops in which they present their thesis research, and organize an end-of-year conference in the spring.
Applications to our Harvard graduate and undergraduate grants are now open, for students seeking funding for research, internships or language study in South Asia this winter.
FLASHBACK FRIDAY
In September 2012, we partnered with the Harvard Film Archive to bring the Raj Kapoor Film Festival to Harvard. The series was introduced by Professor Samir Dayal , Bentley University. New, English-subtitled 35mm prints of seven of Kapoor’s most important films were presented.
