Leann Andrews is a licensed landscape architect with a professional background in ecological restoration, green infrastructure, and community design. She received a PhD in the built environment with a focus in global health from the University of Washington, and was an NIH Fogarty Global Health Scholar and an LAF National Olmsted Scholar. Leann is currently an Assistant Professor at Pennsylvania State University and active in the Penn State One Health Group and E+D (Ecology plus Design). Leann's work explores the intersection between landscapes, the built environment and One Health. She leads landscape design and research projects across the US and Peru and assesses their impacts on human and ecological health. Leann co-founded the design activism non-profit Traction, where she co-directs the InterACTION Labs, a transdisciplinary action research program in an amphibious informal settlement community in the Amazon Rainforest.
