Homecoming Highlights

Thank you to the members of our St. Francis DeSales alumni community for participating in a  wonderful Homecoming!  It was great to see so many people who still 'bleed purple' present on school grounds.

We kicked the day off with a packed house for our Traditions Mass and Breakfast; students, staff and alumni filled the gym. Following mass we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast while listening to proud leaders of the student body speak of their experience, service, and leadership within the school.  Mr. Garrick shared highlights from the start of the school year, as well as the many great things in store for the future of SFD. Alumni Board President, Beth Mitevski, talked about the Alumni Legacy Scholarship and attendees had an opportunity to give to our SFD Legacy Fund. Following breakfast was the homecoming assembly where guests were invited to view the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen, Josh Conroy and Julia Anderson.

Friday evening alumni, family and friends gathered for a tailgate and the Homecoming game in a reserved section in the north end zone.  Attendance was at a record high despite the early evening rain. Homecoming was full of food, fun, and football as folks reminisced on their times as Stallions. Some even joined the band for a pre-game performance on the field. This year the Alumni tent had a special kids area with face-painting, prizes, and coloring.  It was a huge hit for future Stallions. A special thank you goes out to our amazing and very active Alumni Board for making this evening possible.

Many of the people who had not been on school grounds for a while remarked on how much SFD has grown and changed. We are so blessed and proud of the wonderful home we have created for our students over the years.  This is made possible because of wonderful families like you that continue to stay engaged with our school and give of their time, talent, and treasures.  Homecoming 2018 exceeded our expectations. Thank you, SFD Alumni families!

Daily Reflection

Heavenly Father, the effects of my words or deeds or prayers may be invisible to me, and yet I believe that goodness will come if, in faith, I let You work through me. Please show me where I can be of help, even in a small way. Help me to reach the potential You intend in all I do and pray today. Amen.
