November 2018 Nobles County Clover Update
Here's what's new on the Nobles County 4-H website this month!
Re-enroll by November 1st!

It's that time of year again, our 2018-2019 year has begun! Make sure to re-enroll in Nobles County 4-H by November 1st so you can take part in our Enrollment Incentive!
All adult and youth members who are re-enrolled by November 1st will be invited to a complimentary Ice Skating & Pizza Party at the Worthington Hockey Arena!
Any first year members who are enrolled within Nobles County 4-H until the event takes place will also be invited to the skating celebration!

Stitch Project group in Nobles County!

Each month through June, the group will gather for a two-hour session that will include instruction and stitching time.



November Project Tour: STEM Foosball challenge

This month at our Project Tour, we will be exploring the areas of Science, Technology, Engingeering & Math to participate in hands on learning activities. At this Project Tour, youth grades 5-8th will be designing and implementing their creations in hopes to create the most effective Foosball Machine.  
 
This event takes place on Saturday, November 10th from 9 AM-12 PM at the Regional Extension Office (1527 Prairie Drive, Worthington). The cost to attend will be $3, which will be used for project materials and snack for the youth! RSVP by November 5th.


November Cloverbud meeting

The next Cloverbud meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 13th at 6:00 PM at the Nobles County Farmers Room. Come join us in learning about the importance that Veteran's serve in our lives!

Hey, youth 7th grade & up!! Are you interested in furthering your leadership skills?! Join us for our Ambassador "kickoff" meeting on November 18th at 6:00 PM.  RSVP by November 16th.

Did you get your new 4-H year calendars?

There are several holidays in November in which the county office will be closed.  Please take note.

Registration for the 2019 Science of Agriculture Challenge is now open! Youth in grades 6 - 12 should register by Friday, Feb. 1. The Science of Agriculture Challenge is a great way to develop communication and problem solving skills and explore careers related to agriculture.
 
4-H enrollment is required for 4-H participation and is easy to do. Has your family enrolled yet? If not, please take a few minutes to enroll and/or update your family's information.
 
Adult and teen leaders - are you looking for new activities to kick off your club meetings? Check out this new resource on our website to engage your members in problem solving activities! These activities will not only build teamwork and problem solving skills, but will energize your members, setting the stage for productive meetings!
 
Plan ahead for winter weather cancellations of 4-H programs, activities and outings. Proper plan communication will help to ensure the safety of 4-H members and Minnesota 4-H volunteers during the winter months.
 
Minnesota 4-H is an approved nonprofit organization. This provides 4-H exemption on paying Minnesota sales tax on most purchases. Purchases MUST be paid for directly by a 4-H organization check in order to utilize the sales tax exemption.
 
Fall is a great time to plan for fundraising activities for 4-H programs to generate dollars to use throughout the year. Utilize the information sheets linked in this article and work with your 4-H program coordinator when you have questions or are seeking advice about carrying out local fundraising efforts.
 
The First Generation Initiative team is excited to announce a video contest to highlight the great work being done by 4-H'ers to recruit and orient folks new to 4-H! Submit your video by Dec. 15 for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card!
