Worship This Week:
Reformation Sunday, October 25
11:00 a.m. worship online
Organ prelude beginning shortly after 10:45 a.m.
Rocky Supinger preaching
Reformation Sunday
This Sunday is Reformation Sunday, a time when we recall the rich heritage of the Protestant tradition.
It was on All Hallows’ Eve (the day before All Saints’ Day), October 31, 1517, that Martin Luther posted his ninety-five theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany, the watershed event sparking the Reformation.
The Presbyterian Church (USA) grew out of that Reformation in the sixteenth century under leaders such as John Calvin and the Scotsman John Knox. Thus on the last Sunday of October we remember and give thanks for Reformation leaders and all others who have kept the faith.

In our 2021 Stewardship Campaign for Fourth Church and Chicago Lights, we are recommiting ourselves to “Putting Our Faith into Action.” In doing so, we are each called to ask of ourselves, What investment will I make in my Fourth Church family and its work in 2021?
In preparation for Commitment Sunday—November 8—the Stewardship and Giving Council asks that you please make your 2021 pledge by that date. Then on that Sunday we will dedicate our gifts and celebrate all that we are able to do together through our generous response to God’s blessings in our lives.
