The Cambridge FFA Chapter was also named Model of Excellence Finalist for the second year in a row. Model of Excellence is the top honor given to an FFA Chapter.

Lastly, the Cambridge FFA had its first National Proficiency Finalist in the chapter's history. Meaghan Bybee (Class of 2018) finish in the top four in the Nation for Equine Science Placement.

Last week we distributed student IDs, card cases, and Cambridge lanyards to students during their Cambridge English classes. Students with college on-campus English classes will receive their IDs this week. As part of our safety and security plan, we are implementing a policy such that all students must wear an ID at all times. IDs should be worn around the neck and visible. By ensuring all staff, students, and visitors have some identification on them at all times; we can better ensure that the people in our building, should be in our building. We ask that all parents and guardians help us in this safety measure by ensuring that your student has his/her ID on them each day.

Students with no English class on campus should pick their IDs up from the front office. Students who did not have their picture taken this year (picture day, senior portrait, or make-up) will not have an ID on distribution day. These students may use last year's ID (if they have one) until they get a current ID. These students should stop by the front office to receive their lanyard. The front office will notify all students missing an ID about having their ID made.

Please note that if a student loses his/her ID, it will cost $5 to replace the ID and if a student loses their ID and lanyard, it will cost $10 to replace all items.

All students who wish to participate in spring dual enrollment classes must have applied to the college (if required - by college deadline) and submitted their signed Student Participation Agreement and Class Schedule to Ms. Wilson no later than Friday, November 30, 2018.   Any forms received after this date will not be accepted.  Please contact Mrs. Wilson, Dual Enrollment Liaison at [email protected]  or your counselor with any questions.

We are so excited to add "Homework Help" sessions to our GROWL program on Wednesdays.  Does your 9th grader need help understanding their homework? Perhaps they need someone to read their essay and provide some feedback. Or maybe they are struggling with a concept and need someone to explain it to them again. We have a solution.

Cambridge National Honors Society students are volunteering their time to help 9th graders with their homework during study hall or intramural sports on GROWL days.  After attendance is taken in study hall or intramural sports, students may sign out of their class to report to room 1.116. Our National Honors Society students will be there to help with math, science, history, English, and Spanish.  

This is a great opportunity for 9th graders to get help with their homework. When they are finished getting help, they return to their study hall or sports.

• Need help getting organized? Ms. Furr has a new class called "The Key to Organization," starting this Tuesday.
   
• Need writing support? Writing support is available Tuesday and Thursday, and Creative Writing is available on Thursday.
   
• Writing college essays or need some help? Dr. Karschnik has the PAWS for you on Thursdays.
   
• Interested in military movies? Mr. Bordas has a new class, "America at War," held on Tuesdays.
   
• Love horses? Ms. Cook is showing classic and new horse movies where the equine is the hero. The class is held on Thursdays.
   
• Love space? Watch episodes of Planet Earth, Cosmos, and other shows and discuss Planet Earth and More with Ms. Vaughn on Tuesday.
   
• Need to learn new techniques for relaxing? Try Relaxation Therapy on Thursday or join the Yoga class on Tuesday to reduce stress and boost your wellbeing.

Cambridge High School is excited to announce a new program designed to support new parents/guardians joining the Cambridge community and our existing parents/guardians who may need some support navigating school-related issues.

A group of Cambridge parents called the Parent Connectors has been organized to provide third-party, neutral support to fellow parents who have questions or concerns about the school or the community.  Please read the attached flyer for more information.

Varsity Cheer Region Championship is this Saturday, November 3 at Johns Creek HS!  Doors open at 8:30 am.  We will compete at approximately 9:30 am (exact times are not shared).  Cambridge Varsity Cheer needs everyone!  We will be scored on CROWD participation!  Please come out and support our Cheer Bears!

 

Juniors and Seniors who have completed the Hire Me TAG seminar and want to participate in a Spring semester TAG career internship, you must interview with the county coordinator on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 .  Students should see Mrs. Flores, in 1101 before school this week, to sign-up for an interview time and to receive detailed instructions.

A pplerouth will be hosting free practice tests for the SAT and ACT on November 10 and 11, 2018. Students can take an official, full-length proctored SAT or ACT - for Free! Afterwards, students will receive a detailed score report that highlights their strengths and areas for growth. Students will also receive access to an exclusive online Strategy Session led by a top tutor.

There will be a meeting for parents of students interested in trying out for the Cambridge Boys Golf Team on Tuesday, October 30.  The meeting will be held in the student center beginning at 6:00 p.m.

 

 

We are excited to announce our graduation plan for the Class of 2019. This year, all North Fulton  County High Schools will be holding graduation ceremonies at Verizon Amphitheatre located in Alpharetta. Our ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 2:30 pm . We look forward to upholding our tradition of a beautiful and dignified graduation and are excited to take advantage of this spacious venue with ample seating for our Cambridge families.

Our graduation committee will continue to finalize the details of graduation and graduation activities, and additional information will be provided as we get closer to this important event. Junior Classical League is collecting socks for kids and teenagers in Fulton County's foster system. Donate new socks in the bin outside the Latin classroom (2621) throughout October.

This great event will be held on Tuesday, November 7th at the beautiful Manor Golf & Country Club. This fundraising event is our single largest fundraiser and source of funds for Cambridge Baseball's Capital Improvements. With your contributions, generous donations, and participation, this fundraising event will help us build one of the finest Batting Facilities in the State of Georgia.  

Our golf event has sold out every year and everyone has a great time.  We will also have an abundance of Silent and Live Auction Items that you can bid on.  This event is fun, but more importantly your participation will help fuel the future success of the Cambridge Baseball Program.
