With the release of the movie " The Hate You Give" which is based on the book by Angie Thomas,  BSAC Alumna Denyse Wornum was invited to discuss the power of youth as part of the social change movement and the realities of gun violence in our communities on WGBH's 

Basic Black.

 

As Denyse said on the panel, this is an extremely difficult time to be a young person in the U.S. Young people dealing with school and community violence in an unprecedented way, while also working to identify who they are, what their voice means, and how they can use it.
