Principal's Post

Dear Ryland Families,
I'm looking forward to attending my first Treat and Eat this coming Saturday! It will run from 12-4 at school and there will be a shuttle from Mills Road football fields from 11:45-4:15. We will have food from Whit's and Donato's as well as hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks. We will have carnival games, a haunted hallway and a dunk tank as well as sand art and face and hair painting. We will also have a cake walk and a blind auction basket up for grabs. We will take cash and credit cards at the event and tickets are available for games and activities. Food will be cash or credit card. Join us for a day of fun and help our teachers raise money for their classrooms.

Your Principal,
Mrs. Cobb

Dear Ryland Families,
October is full of nationally recognized events that promote healthy lifestyles by being drug free. In addition, October is also Bullying Prevention Month. To recognize and promote awareness, we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 22-26, 2018 with the theme "Drug + Bully Free = A Healthy Me!" The week will be full of educational and fun activities to promote healthy habits and kindness. Students and staff are encouraged to participate by dressing up. Parents/guardians, we encourage you to have conversations with your child related to each day's theme. Below is an outline of the week:
  • Monday October 22: Today is all about healthy habits and respecting ourselves and others! Students will receive a book mark in which they pledge to be "Drug + Bully Free = A Healthy Me!" Wear red to kick off Red Ribbon Week!

  • Tuesday October 23:Show off how "You won't see us using drugs or being a bully!" by wearing camouflage! Wear camo and operation excellence shirts!

  • Wednesday October 24:  Unity Day! Visit www.pacer.org/bullying/for more information. Students will receive stickers that say "Together We Can Make a Difference!" Wear orange to show we are united against bullying and drugs!
