Budget And Annual Planning Process
In case you haven't looked at your calendar it's November, the eleventh month of the year. That means the end of the year is just around the corner, and the New Year will be here, in some cases, before we would like it to be. In other cases, however, it may be a welcome happening to get the current year closed and a new one started.
November is a great time to begin next year's plan and budget for your business. In fact, to be truthful, it may be even a little late if your business is complex. In any event a plan and budget for the next year should be a must for any business. Imagine getting into your vehicle and driving with no idea of where you are going, what route you will take to get there, how long it will take to get to where you may be going, and how you will pay for what you might need. Well, running a business with no plan or budget is careless, too.

Community Outreach Update

By Rainee Busby, Outreach Committee Chair
Giving Thanks To Those Organizations That Help Us Entrepreneurs
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost upon us! This is always a great time of the year to take a step back and evaluate the accomplishments we have made.  I've been running the Outreach Committee for a little over a year now.  It's been fun to work directly with the Silver Foxes who are instrumental in keeping us in sync with all of the organizations we work with to help support our business community here in Houston. We are excited to take each relationship we value to the next level.
One of our affinity-level program partners is Houston Community College (HCC) which is a key player in supporting businesses and their employees across Houston.  They have really stepped up their entrepreneurial programs this past year.  Not only have they expanded their entrepreneurial education, they have also added numerous workshops to further add value.  We are involved in multiple conversations with HCC to help support them even further; from judging support to delivering workshops.  We are ready when they need us.

Monthly Marketing Tip

By Mark Miller a Silver Fox Advisor
When To Close?
When to close has been asked by many sales people who are have difficulty CLOSING.  The problem is not necessarily when to CLOSE, but how much information has the sales person obtained from the customer. Does the sales person know the REAL REASONS why the prospect wants to buy?  Most sales people assume they know but didn't ask the right questions to find the true buying motives. Does the salesperson understand how much money the prospect can afford and are willing to spend? Most sales people are afraid to talk about money because they are afraid of being too pushy or turning the prospect off. Finally, does the sales person really understand how the prospect make decisions?  Get these answers first, and you'll CLOSE more deals . t
