Dear families,

As you may be aware, yesterday the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services recommended the cancellation or postponement of nonessential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This recommendation is in place for the next two weeks, at which time it will be reevaluated based on the most current information. The press release is linked here

Below is some important information about upcoming MP&MS events. For up to date details about these and other events, please visit our dedicated webpage with information about our school’s response to the Coronavirus.

Drama Production
At the recommendation of Marin HHS and for the safety of our community, the middle school production of Haphazardly After Ever will no longer be performed for a public audience. However, we are working hard on making special arrangements for smaller groups of students and parents to see this production. More information will be shared as soon as its available.

Rock the Boat Auction & Celebration
While Marin HHS recommendations may not extend past the two week deadline, we have made the decision to not hold the Rock the Boat Auction & Celebration on March 28. Planning ahead will protect us from incurring penalties related to our event venue contract.

We are exploring the possibility of continuing our fundraising efforts online through our auction website and also holding an event later in the school year. To give ourselves time to consider all of our options, we have decided to postpone the launch of our online silent auction until after spring break.

In the meantime, the MP&MS Parents Association raffle is ongoing and we ask that you all please do your best to sell your raffle tickets and return stubs and payments to the front office by Monday, March 16. For questions please email Ledlie Pastor .

Field Trips, Overnight Trips, and Other Events
We are postponing indoor field trips until spring break. Balancing the educational value of field trips with the health and wellbeing of our community is a priority. We will continue to evaluate field trips and other events on an ongoing basis. Division directors or classroom teachers will be in touch with you directly as the need arises.

Thank you for your patience as we work through these extenuating circumstances.

Take care,

Andrew
