"THE NAME THIEF OF NEVERLAND"
Blackwood Library |  Thursday 6 December | 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Celebrate the release of this new title for children 8-12 years old from local author Dimity Knight.

When Holly finds her way as a lost child to Neverland, it is a  paradise for a girl who loves adventure. But her life with the outlaws is plagued by a dark shadow: their sw orn enemy, the mischievous Peter Pan, now captain of the pirate ship, the Jolly Roger. Holly finds the troublesome Pan strangely appealing, but he pays no attention to her - until one day she steals his name.

KITCHEN CADDIES AND COMPOSTABLE BAGS

Now available from Blackwood Library!
Food scraps are a valuable resource that we can no longer waste. Food scraps placed in the green organics bin will be composted by Jeffries and turned into compost and mulch.  Recycling food scraps increases resource recovery, reduces waste to landfill and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

One way to easily collect your food scraps for composting is to use a kitchen caddy and compostable bag. These convenient caddies and bags are now available for sale from Blackwood Library and the City of Mitcham Civic Centre.

MAN BOOKER AWARD WINNER

The Man Booker Prize is the leading literary award in the English speaking world. Each year, the prize is awarded to what is, in the opinion of the judges, the best novel of the year written in English and published in the UK.

This year the Man Booker has been awarded to  Milkman by Anna Burns.

In this unnamed city, to be interesting is dangerous. Middle sister, our protagonist, is busy attempting to keep her mother from discovering her maybe-boyfriend and to keep everyone in the dark about her encounter with Milkman. But when first brother-in-law sniffs out her struggle, and rumours start to swell, middle sister becomes 'interesting'. The last thing she ever wanted to be.
