Blackboard Collaborate Ultra via Phone
When using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra in Canvas, students have a couple of different ways to access a Collaborate session. The first way of entering a session is by going to the Collaborate Ultra tab in Canvas, clicking on the session, and then clicking on the “Join Session” link. This method will only work on a desktop or laptop computer.

If a student does not have a desktop or laptop, instructors can send students the “Guest Link” that is automatically generated whenever a session is created. The Guest Link will appear underneath the Join Session button of a particular session. When a student clicks on the guest link, Collaborate Ultra will open in their browser automatically and take them directly to the session. This can be done on a computer, smart phone, or tablet. By clicking on the guest link, students will have access to the full version of Collaborate Ultra.

Instructors can email this guest link to students as well as add the link to the homepage of their Canvas course.
Kaltura Self-Captioning Available
Captioning video content is incredibly important. Captions allow for students with hearing impairments to get the same information from a video that non-hearing impaired students get.

You can request video captions directly through My Media in Canvas. Each My Media user has the ability to request captions for Kaltura videos by going to the video that needs captions, clicking on Actions, and then choosing Order Captions. This method of captioning will only provide captions, but not a transcript (yet). These captions are also easily edited by the individual user. For detailed instructions on how to request your own captions via My Media, please click here.
Instructional Technology Resources Course Available for Self-Enrollment
A robust Instructional Technology Resources course is available for all faculty and staff to self-enroll into .

The course covers a wealth of resources that will be useful during the transition online, including documentation on Canvas, Kaltura, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, NetTutor, Respondus, and Turnitin.

You can also find information on how to contact the Innovations in Learning team, get in touch with Campus Technology Services, and contact Tier 1 Support in Canvas.

As always, remember that you can email the Innovations in Learning team at innovations@uwp.edu if you need assistance.
Canvas Tier 1 Support available 24/7
With Finals Week fast-approaching, it's important to remember how all faculty, staff, and students can get immediate support for Canvas.

Canvas offers Tier 1 Support 24/7, 365 days a year. If you have a question about Canvas or need help, please contact Tier 1 Support first as they are able to impersonate accounts and troubleshoot directly, something our admin team is unable to do.

You can access Tier 1 Support by logging in to Canvas and clicking on the Help button located at the bottom of the gray left hand navigation bar. You can search the Canvas Guides , chat online, email, or call. The phone number for student support is: 1 (833) 820-4070
