Dear Friends and Neighbors:

Earlier in this month I attended a Harvey Anniversary Community meeting hosted by a member of one of the affected communities, Bridget Williams. Below I have linked a video of the event itself for those who could not attend. But first, I want to say a word about Bridget. She is a great example of someone who has gone above and beyond for her community to ensure everyone has access to information about ongoing Harvey Recovery efforts. Bridget is a joy to work with especially when it comes to getting the information out to the community. Not everyone subscribes to this newsletter so Bridget's efforts in sharing information and updates are invaluable.

I want to share a letter we received from Bridget, we share its sentiments and look forward to working with her in the future

Dear Councilman Travis,
Thank you so much for participating in the Hurricane Harvey Anniversary Meeting on October 8. I have received a lot of positive feedback from the attendees; people felt that their concerns were heard, even if they didn't necessarily get resolution to the ongoing problems post-Harvey.
Flood prevention and mitigation is forefront int he minds of those of us who flooded; it's more important than any other issue, including the eternal Memorial Drive construction project!
I especially want to thank a member of your staff, Katie, for her professionalism and her willingness to work with me on getting this meeting together.
Sincerely,
Bridget Williams
