SAINTS PETER & PAUL CATHOLIC SCHOOL
CLASS OF 2016
MAKES THEIR
COLLEGE CHOICE
Throughout the past five months, our Senior Spotlight series has featured members from our Class of 2016 who were concluding a very accomplished high school experience at Naperville North, Naperville Central, Benet, St. Francis or St. Joseph.  They also acknowledged how well-prepared they were at Saints Peter and Paul School for the rigorous curriculum they encountered.

Today we present the college choices of the Class of 2016.

Space limitations prevent us from listing all of the colleges and universities to which each person was accepted, the majors they will be pursuing, or the scholarship money they received.

As accomplished as these students listed here are, the reality is that they are no different from any class that has graduated from Saints Peter and Paul School for the past 167 years.

TRIVIA
When our school was founded in 1853...

...students didn't carry their textbooks to and from school via backpacks.

The first vessels for students' books weren't pack-like at all, but rather a strap of leather  (basically a belt) that was fastened around a stack of books to make them easier to carry.

In 1938,  Gerry Outdoors  invented the first backpack with a zipper.  However, these backpacks were still primarily in use for hiking, camping and alpine recreation.

Gerry Outdoors claims to have created the very first "modern nylon backpack in existence" in 1967 though it wasn't until the 1980's that student backpacks were fully integrated into the checklist of necessary school supplies.

If you've just gotten engaged, married, had a baby, won an award, got a new job or earned a promotion, that is the kind news we're interest in.
