Harbor Animal Hospital, in Warren, closed on a $254,000 C-PACE loan to fu
nd the installation of solar panels and LED lights. The animal hospital utilizes a large amount of electricity due to their hours of operation, equipment and animal boarding program. Over the next 20-years, the hospital is expected to reduce its carbon footprint by 1,234 metric carbon tons and generate financial savings of $583,000.
“We are excited by Harbor Animal Hospital’s decision to utilize the Infrastructure Bank’s C-PACE program. It’s heartening when local businesses make investments that help advance the Town’s ‘Green Warren’ initiatives,” said Warren Town Manager Kate Michaud, “By transitioning to highly efficient LED lighting and installing a roof-top solar system, Harbor Animal Hospital is helping the Town reduce its environmental footprint while maintaining the Town's beautiful natural resources.”
“The C-PACE program made it possible for a small business like us to invest in clean energy. We will start seeing savings almost immediately,” said Dr. Wade Cordy, owner of Harbor Animal Hospital.
